Njemačke vlasti objavile su u petak da su u Hamburgu otkrile 4.5 tone kokaina vrijednog milijardu eura, što je najveća zaplijena narkotika u povijesti zemlje.

Carinici su prije dva tjedna pregledali sumnjivi kontejner koji je stigao iz glavnog grada Urugvaja Montevidea, a odredište mu je bio Antwerpen u Belgiji.

U dokumentima je pisalo da je natovaren sojom, no umjesto toga carinici su našli 221 crnu sportsku torbu s 4200 paketa kokaina.

"To je najveća pojedinačna zaplijena droge u Njemačkoj", stoji u priopćenju carinske službe.

Pokrenuta je istraga koja bi trebala otkriti tko je trebao preuzeti kokain.

"Zaplijenjeni kokain je uništen prema strogim sigurnosnim standardima", dodaje se u priopćenju.
